Andrea had Emma up and Robert had Mallory, Mark, and Danielle. 22nd annual (of Moore kids anyway, throw in Lea Ann and it is like 33rd) Irby Dance Recital. Recital and pre-game festivities attended by the Wallace's', Nana, Laura, Dangie, Poppa, Rena, Ellen. "A boat owner and his money are soon parted". After getting both axles replaced, the trip back to the lake involves a blown tire on the trailer. Did you know there are almost no Tire Stores open on Saturday afternoons (especially the one that was 100 yards from where we broke down). The boat gods did bless us once more when (after exhausting 8 or so Tire Store tries) I called the axle guy to just borrow a jack strong enough to get the trailer up where I could get the wheel off and try to get somewhere where I could get a new tire. I got the jack and about to leave and he thinks to himself, I think I might have a wheel and tire that would fit that. He did and other than 3 tries at getting the trailer jacked up high enough to get the new wheel on, it was a perfect ending. Robert barely beats the oil slick on trip to Panama City. Has a close shark encounter while in a raft. Andrea and Dad do the 5K at Toad Suck, just rain not like the storm like last year that ran them off. For season recap visit: Monarch Basketball New sponsor alert (way more fun than the Lysol products): Jewelry by Ashley on board. Keep her in mind for your jewelry needs. Excellent Christmas. Good time at home, Morrilton, and Malvern. Everyone in good health and good spirit. Great times over Thanksgiving week. Excellent food, games, kickball, hayride, New Moon viewing, Malvern Band performance, night at Castle Valley. Raid Ashley's new pad on trip to Fayetteville for Hog game. Fun, long weekend trip to St. Louis. Visit to the Arch, Union Station, Zoo, City Museum (should be called 8 story awesome playground). Good as a fitness trip as well, we probably walked 20 miles. One for the record books: Trip to the lake to take in boat for winterizing finds trailer work from previous work unsuccessful. Pull over at a Country Store/ Gas Station and have the luck of Manager of the parts place we got parts for on previous trailer fix is in the store and lives 100 yards away. Make it even better he has an axle with the hub we need, a shop complete with forklift to easily lift trailer and replace hub. Got even more fun when showing up at Boating Center and a sign on front door says that they have gone out of business effective the day before. Thankfully they honored the appointment we had made. Makes you wonder why they say the best 2 days of a boat owners life are, the day they buy it, and the day they sell it. Low fun lake trip for trailer work is still OK despite having wind and waves and motor not working to try and get barge loaded. Robert shuns parents for family day at ATU. Looked like the weather might do us in again but wind up with a pretty good Labor Day weekend with all 3 kids, Dangie, Poppa, Emily, and Amy. Robert moves into the dorm, best we can tell it is actually the press box at the football stadium. Roomy indeed but not sure if he'll have to vacate on game days. Robert off to ATU with maid service no doubt (staying at Economy Inn) and makes his bed to really throw it in Mom's face. Emily getting a good taste of UCA versus UGA, so far hands down UGA I think. Andrea starts grade 6, clothing choices are heightened priority. See the Back to School page. Andrea pays a visit to the Wallace's while Mom and Dad hangout with Robert's Aldersgate crew up at the lake. More boat fun, bearings go out on trailer on Sunday, Dad gets to take off work on Monday and girls get a day on the lake. Quick Sunday trip with Andrea and Big Maddie, awesome weather for July 19th. Even got Andrea on the tube, low velocity but she did ride. Andrea spends a few days with Ashley in Fayetteville. Fun lake trip for the 4th with Wallace crew. Andrea and the cuz's do Budd Creek Camp. Great Fun. 15+ year old house blues, new roof, air conditioner, garage door opener, water heater, hopefully we are getting close to replacing all the old stuff. Idea: Buy a new house and move to a new one every 14 years. Memorial Day Weekend a bad weather bust. Looks like the analog to digital conversion might be OK at the lake, getting 8 channels, main thing is we have Fox. Ashley makes an impromptu visit home. Senior trip group makes it back sans deposit and a ticket for hanging out of the car on the strip, mission accomplished. Senior trip group off to Panama City. Robert graduates!! Andrea has 09' Dance Recital with "Dancing with the Stars" judges in attendance. Kris Allen "American Idol" fever hits the Moore home. Lea Ann, Andrea, Lisa Eason, Madison Castleberry going to watch events at UCA Ferris Center. Toad Jam 09' Roberts team (7th Episcipalian Holy Church of Jesus Christ at Dumas, sponsored by Victors Secret) had to play up in the Men's Division and they won one and gave two teams all they wanted. The 7th EHCoJC frustrated the 40 yr old pro 3 on 3 team to the point that one of them tried to remove Roberts head. Ashley home for a visit. New bed or replace waterbed mattress? Waterbed mattress wins. Stuck in the '80s and loving it. Actually Glenn gets support from Andrea to seal the deal. For the record, Glenn gives open opportunity for a change. Spring Break the kids have a good time away from the house (we think? Mom and Dad not with them). Andrea to the Wallace's and Cantrell's, Robert to Fayetteville. Season comes to an end with loss to Rogers in State semifinals, 53-62. Ironic 1st and last games of the season are losses to Rogers. Again if you are going to lose, doing it with Dad's alma mater is the way to go. CHS makes a huge comeback from 15 points down to defeat Ft. Smith Northside in 7A State Tournament at Ft. Smith. Andrea winds up her season with 2 nice shots, Robert and the Cats going to Ft. Smith for State Tournament. Great Friday night of basketball with Bob and Les, Nana, Meredith, Dangie and Poppa, and the Wallaces in attendance for Andrea's game with a nice shot made by Andrea and Senior night for Robert with cool student section powder shower set off by Robert, and some good ball play getting 3 points and 2 rebounds in CHS win 54-50 over Russellville. Not to be outdone by the kids Lea Ann makes the front page of the Conway newspaper. BB Season in full swing with Andrea's Shock team playing their 1st game (against a team twice their size). 2nd game about the same (it looks like we are the smallest team in the league by quite a margin). Visit Shock BB 2009 Robert has some nice assists in CHS's 80-66 win over Cabot. Visit CHS BB 2008/09 The Wampus Cats keep it perfect with 3rd Tournament Championship winning the Springdale Har-Ber Tournament. Robert gets 10 points in Championship game. A very Merry Christmas with the Hurley's, Wallace's, Cantrell's, Nana, and Meredith. CHS keeps winning streak alive with 69-57 win over Springdale at UCA Ferris Center. Cats win the Conway Wampus Cat Invitational Tournament with win over Forrest City. Robert gets player of the game award (11 points highlighted with 4 point play) and gets on Creative Sports Network Radio for post game interview in 65-43 win over Sylvan Hills in 1st game at Wampus Cat Tourney. Cats win Searcy Tournament in an exciting 57-55 win versus rival Cabot. Visit CHS BB 2008/09 for team trophy pic. Emily and Morgan come for UCA visit. 2nd Wampus Cat game gets Robert in the newspaper as leading scorer. Cats win 50-18 over Batesville. First Wampus Cat Basketball game not so good for the team but Robert gets to start and plays well.
