Welcome to our website!
ARKANSAS STATE DENTAL HYGIENISTS’ ASSOCIATION PRESIDENTS MESSAGE
This has been a very exciting year serving as President of the ASDHA thus far with the release of new the branding from ADHA, the anticipation of our new logo campaign, the trip to Chicago for training with ADHA, our new website, but mostly from working with the fabulous people on our state’s association Board of Trustees. What a fabulous and hard working group of people. When you see them, be sure to thank them for all their dedicated hours for our profession. They have certainly made my job easy and enjoyable. First let me encourage you to submit a new logo for our “Updating our ASDHA Logo” Contest. Our current one is from 1954, and the BOT decided we needed something new and fresh to represent today’s modern hygienist. If your design wins, you receive $100. We will pick the winner at our spring session, April 25, 2008. Mail your entries to be received by April 20, 2008 to: ASDHA, P. O. Box 1583, Conway, AR 72033, or bring them to the meeting April 25. Secondly, I want to encourage you to visit the ASDHA website regularly as this is where you will find important and updated information as to what is happening in our profession. The site is ASDHA.net I am excited about the ASDA ARMOM program again this year. The dates are: May 1-4 at the State House Convention Center. Set up will be May 1 and take down is May 4. The 2nd and 3rd are the days patients will be seen. I encourage you to be there to offer any help you can with this wonderful mission. For information visit the ASDA website. My trip to Chicago in mid November for training was a wonderful learning experience with hygienists from every state. How amazing it was to learn what is happening in other areas of the country and the networking that is available to all of us from ADHA. You may have noticed the new ADHA logo is now a bright red and orange color and our new brand is “Unleashing Your Potential”. This was chosen because ADHA is there for all of us not just professionally, but socially and personally as well to help you “unleash your greatest potential”. ADHA is a valuable resource of information through the website and publications to keep us updated on the new advances in dental hygiene, new technology, and very helpful when you call the office in Chicago with any question. It is a great source for continuing education, professional advancement, employment assistance, as well as discounts on liability, disability, major medical, and auto insurances for members. Members can also get an ADHA credit card which earns points towards travel with every purchase made. If you are not a member, consider joining. ADHA is not “them”, it’s you and me; WE ARE ADHA! And we are there for each other! For help or questions about membership and joining ADHA call Amber Townsend (501) 201-0203 Don’t forget, we have an employment chairperson. Her name is Brandi Mack and her number is (501) 455-2032. Please call her if you are looking for a job or in need of finding a hygienist. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I will be glad to help you in anyway I can. Carol Robinson (501) 658-3556. Remember, “Ask not what ASDHA can do for you, but what can you do for ASDHA?” Get involved; it’s a great way to revitalize your career! See you at our Spring Session, April 25, 2008. Carol A. Robinson, B. S., R. D. H.-President, Arkansas State Dental Hygienists’ Association
